W5 Class Trip

Numeracy May 2022

We had some fun today completing our mental maths outside and understanding scales by using the measuring jugs to pour out different capacities of water.

World Book Day 2022

PE (February 2022)

P5/6 worked hard in PE today completing a circuit of different activities.

December 2021

We completed some fun activities linked to our Titanic topic. We carried out some floating and sinking experiments and then used clay to try and mould our own boats that would float. We then tested them by counting how many 1p and 2p coins they could hold. The winning boat held 28 coins! We have also been busy trying to make our own 3d Titanic models. It has proved difficult at times but we have kept trying and once painted they started looking really good.

Vertical Subtraction

Today (11/10/21) we started working on vertical subtraction sums. To start off we used the Base 10 equipment tp help us understand what the exchanges actually are. we will lbe doing lots of work on subtraction this week. Our homework will also be based on this next week - watch out for a seesaw video from Mr Ritchie showing mums and dads how we do these calculations as it might be a little different from how they were taught (Mr Ritchie was taught a different way himself!).
